WHO ARE WE?
Welcome to Sandpipers Nursery and School. We provide care for SGU faculty, staff and students as well as Grenadian or visiting families.
Susanne Curry is the director of Sandpipers Nursery and School and has over the past ten years established educational programs and external educational support programs including curriculum development to serve the Grenadian community.
Ms. Curry is an experienced and qualified teacher for Early Childhood Programs and primary age students (ages 0-12 years). She holds her Early Childhood Education Degree, Bachelors of Liberal Arts w Concentration in Education, Montessori 3-6 years and Upper and Lower Elementary teaching certificates.
"Education in Grenada is a passion of mine." Ms. Curry not only excels at teaching young ones but enjoys training local Grenadian teachers in current child development techniques. The reason for her successes in "trainings of teachers" are her regular scheduled weekly team meetings. Ms. Curry meets every week with her teaching teams to provide suggestions and support and to discuss each child as an individual. Ms. Curry empowers and guides her teachers in professional and personal development.
"The teachers are my Caribbean family, we support each other in our personal and professional ups and downs. We work together as a whole team with a shared vision of providing the most comprehensive experience to the children daily. I want the teachers to wake up every morning and feel appreciated and positive about their day ahead, all the while being embraced by their school family." Ms. Curry
Sandpipers will follow with Ms. Curry's firm belief in the Montessori philosophy and approach. She is noted for making strong connections with each teacher, child and family. These strong connections pave the road to confidence and learning in the most holistic sense for everyone involved in the development of the child and the school.
